                                                    RE-LEARN HOW TO EAT

Actually we don't know much about our STOMACH, its function? location,what can harm it? only we know it is an involuntary organ, we pay very little attention to our STOMACH ,may be because it never attacks like our HEART.I think we care so little about our stomach and DIGESTIVE SYSTEM,though it it is crying out loud for attention with acidity, bloating, burps,farts,nausea,constipation etc,But we ignore the signals, may be because it never attacks like HEART and causes death, eating light food and taking rest cures our stomach problems.
We actually have a very abusive relationship with our stomachs. We over eat junk food always which is harmful and TOXIC to the stomach and then we go for DETOXING OUR BODY



After that again we eat junk food  with a vengeance which is worse still,
we go on crash diets consisting only juices for weight loss and then gain all the weight back in two weeks, get thin and get fat again.




                                        FAST FOOD

Why we do this to ourselves? DO we really hate ourselves so much? on the contrary we care ourselves very much by wearing good attractive clothes,going to beauty parlour regularly,get best house, a car .then why do we abuse stomach & our digestive system which provides us nourishment with love.we also need to establish a good & loving relationship with our stomach for our wellnessand remain fit.
Overloading our stomach is a crime which leads to loss of our health, wellness & fitness.this also causes acidity,heart burns, burping, bloating, constipation which forces us to consume more ANTACIDS ingredients of which are magnesium,
aluminium,produce a laxative effects which washes off the good bacteria from your intestines which can increase your digestion problems ,leading to hormonal imbalance,frequent urination, loss of appetite,dehydration and mood disorder etc.this can be avoided by relearning eating right at right time.



Loading the stomach when it has no capacity to digest creates all above problems, Stomach has more ability to digest the food between 7 am to 10 am during which we consume tea,coffee, cigarettes which makes our stomach dull & digestive enzymes weak ,We escape our lunch & prefer to eat light till 5pm After that when stomach wants to rest we prefer to eat some spicy food, 0r grilled sandwiches the more tea or coffee,cigarettes. Latter between 9.30 to 11.30 pm when stomach is already tired and overloaded we give it heavy work by eating heavy dinner like pasta or rice with sabji and chapati with our favourite dessert while watching TV,If eat when there is no digestive juice secretion and stomach lost it's power of digestion then it can't digest food and creates many health problems.

                                      OVER EATING

 Is the main cause of all diseases OVER EATING IS EATING MORE THAN THE BODY'S ABILITY TO DIGEST AT THAT POINT OF TIME.It doesn't mean eating more or wrong food,if the stomach lacks the power to digest at particular time then even a small quantity of food will amount to overeating. You can eat whatever you want with whatever qty, when your digestive fire is active  and efficient.You can keep this fire active with disciplined lifestyle, regular exercise and optimistic attitude. Over loading of our digestive system means inviting consequence of waking up dull, tired ,bloated, & irritable the next morning and gaining weight & body fat.


Women gain weight after marriage as they don't want to waste food so eat more,Always respect your feeling of satisfaction & avoid temptation to eat more your favourite food a small bite will cause fat gain.
Don't eat to overcome boredom or entertainment--taking food while watching TV or with distracted mind which surely causes over eating.
We should train our self to listen our sensing organs, our  sensory organ tongue is  employed during eating which is distracted by the salty,spicy,& sweet test in food we remain numb to the other taste in the food.We have to learn to experience MITAHAR which means SWEET FOOD OR DIET so real meaning of the word dieting is MITAHAR (sweet & food). Eating should always lead to SWEET  FEELING we should learn to eat only to the point where our experience with the food is sweet or pleasant and when our body still feels light and fresh.We have to chew food slowly so that our tongue should feel essence of MITAHAR AND open up all the tastes in the food which keeps us in touch with our brain and our body. And it means we will automatically stop when we have reached the threshold. 

     HOW TO LEARN TO TRAIN TO YOUR STOMACH

After relearning your eating habits it is possible to shrink your stomach. The biggest lesson that we have to learn is to stop eating before reaching the overeating threshold, we have to recognize the it.The overeating threshold is different for different people. and even in the same person it changes with age, stress,exercise,time of the day,season,etc.It is easy to find out your own threshold. The secret to stay within the threshold is to have more small 
and frequent meals.
                                    PORTION CONTROL

Small amount means the food that fits in your two palms as the stomach is actually the size of two palms.which is the ideal amount of food our stomach should take at in at the time.
By constantly eating beyond our stomach capacity we stretch our stomach and take in more food than it can digest. Give the stomach a dose of what it needs & digest giving it a small frequent meals ,when it finishes digestion give it some more every two hours. you are still giving your stomach  plenty of food,you are simply lengthening the process of feeding yourself so cutting down the overeating.So the key to stay within  your threshold is to be attentive while you eat. 
Be attentive while eating every bit of what you eat,slowly  and mindfully and you will naturally find your threshold. All you need to train yourself to do,is be attentive to your stomach.so respect your feelings of satisfaction and understand the signal to stop overeating.Eating slowly,tongue should open up to all the tastes in the food and our brain will give the signal of satisfaction then we should know our threshold is reached and should stop eating. This is how you experience mitahar & learn to do this alone for first few days till you get hang on it.And once you do it over and over again ,body learns to do it like a reflex action. PRACTICE MAKES MAN PERFECT SO you will be able to stop at the MITAHAR POINT in any situation while eating .

  • SWITCH OF YOUR MOBILE, TV,& COMPUTER TO AVOID DISTRACTION
  • WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP
  • SERVE YOURSELF HALF OF WHAT YOU USUALLY EAT ON A NICE CLEAN PLATE( PORTION CONTROL)
  • SIT AT YOUR USUAL DINING PLACE WITH CROSS LEGGED POSTURE.
  • WHILE EATING
  • DRINK A GLASS OF WATER BEFORE STARTING EATING
  • EAT SLOWLY WITH YOUR HANDS
  • CHEW THE FOOD SLOWLY TO FEEL THE TESTS
  • USE THE ENTIRE MOUTH AND DON'T JUST CHEW FROM ONE SIDE OF YOUR JAW
  • WHILE YOU HAVE FOOD IN MOUTH DON'T PICK UP THE FOOD FROM THE PLATE ,OTHERWISE YOU WILL OVEREAT DOING HURRY
  • EAT WITH ALL YOUR SENSES AND FEEL HOW THE FOOD IS NOURISHING YOU FROM WITHIN
  • IF YOU WANT TO EAT SOME MORE EAT HALF OF THE LEFTOVER FOOD BUT DON'T IT ALL.
  • AFTER EATING
  • DON'T HURRY TO GET UP ,SIT SOME TIME FEW MINUTES
  • CLEARING UP YOURSELF AND WASH THE PLATE PROPERLY. OTHERWISE LEFTOVER DRIED FOOD PARTICLE WILL CAUSE STOMACH DISCOMFORT .

          This way following above guide lines live healthy ,be fit, A fit person is more ENERGETIC, EFFICIENT & CAN DO  PROGRESS WELL & SUCCESSFUL IN HIS LIFE. 

        LEARN HOW TO INCREASE NUTRIENT INTAKE

Nutrients means CARBOHYDRATES, PROTEINS, FATS, VITAMINS,MINERALS, AND WATER.Cabs,proteins, and fats are called MACRO NUTRIENTS because our body needs them in higher amounts and VITAMINS, & MINERALS are called MICRO NUTRIENTS as they are needed in smaller amounts. as 70% of our body is water so water is needed all the time.
To increase our NUTRIENT intake we should follow the following  rules
1 Eat food that is prepared fresh and consume it within 3 hours of cooking. Don't eat frozen food as its NUTRIENT VALUE REDUCES.
2 If food is cooked for less number of people the better its nutrient level as it requires less heat for cooking than for more number of people as it requires more heat & oil for cooking.
3 Eat vegetables and fruits whole instead of cutting them into pieces,because you loose vitamins from their surface.The larger the exposed area,the more the loss of nutrients.Never buy the pre-packed cut vegetables and fruits


4 Remain loyal to your genes and eat your traditional food because your body is used to eating digesting and assimilating certain foods.
5  As much as possible, eat local produced and seasonal food. Climate, altitude, humidity,wind,soil quality etc influence our digestive system and foods that grow locally.



ALWAYS EAT WHEN YOU ARE IN CALM STATE OF MIND
   Our calm state of mind helps us to absorb all nutrients from the food we ate.When you are state of mind is calm and composed,you secrete the right amount of digestive juices.which means that you are ready to take in your food,break it down slowly,digest and assimilate it. This is when your food reaches deep inside you,to all the cells which need energy.
When the mind is stressed ,agitated,worked up,sad, angry and distracted you don't secrete any digestive juices. what ever you are eating not gets digested or absorbed .Because you are feeling disturbed or stressed in your mind(which the body perceives as a threat to survival),most of the food gets converted into fat(natural reaction of mind).Stress caused by work,finance,relationships, traffic,lack of sleep etc)leads to the secretion of cortisol in our body.The function of cortisol is to lower our metabolic rate,prevent fat burning and help to convert food to fat to protect itself.The means of protection makes us fatter.So the cells which needs energy remain deprived,and the already big fat cells gets bigger,NOW YOU ARE NOT EATING YOUR FOOD, YOUR FOOD IS EATING YOU.
But we can reduce our cortisol production by leading disciplined lives.Waking up close to sunrise ,exercising daily ,finding means of self expression, by keeping all our senses focused on one thing at a time.that is FOOD, keeping calm state of mind and you will secrete your digestive juices, nutrients, will be delivered to cells which gets energy ans won't get converted to fat.when your digestive fire is active and sarong you can digest and assimilate all the nutrients from the food you eat ,this fire also helps you get rid of the toxins from the food.

  • The key for eating right is to focus while you eat, switch off the TV and mobile phone
  • You can digest the most of food between 7 am to 10 am
  • Stress can make you fat as you are overeating.
  • Last night's sabzi and dal retains very little nutrition the day after.
  • Think global eat local ,eat dosas in CHENNAI,momos in Ladakh and PASTA in ITALY .
  • Stay close to your genes, as much as possible eat the food you and your family have grown up eating.
  • Tell your body when you are about to indulge and it will help you deal with the extra fat you are going to be eating
  • It is better for you to have a paneer paratha than a pizza .HOW MANY NUTRIENTS A FOOD HAS IS MUCH IMPORTANT THAN HOW MANY CALORIES
